1995                           

How We Started:

The company:

Caprichem (Pty) Ltd. was established in 1995 and has for 30 years been a well known name in the chemical industry. We have capitalized on various marketing sectors in the industry and have become a very diversified chemical company. We have a large variety of divisions catering to most sectors in the industry. Caprichem offers an array of products in the chemical industry catering for most sectors in the market, namely: Food and Beverage Industry, Wine and Dairy Industry, Hospitality Industry, Laundry Industry, Marine Industry, Personal Care Industry, Retail Industry, Veterinary Industry, Automotive Industry, Engineering Industry, Floor Care Industry and Construction Industry. The company is home to 15 brands. In addition, we supply accessories such as cleaning equipment, household equipment, washroom dispensers and paper products, automotive cleaning equipment, safety equipment, hardware products, plastic products, glassware products and so much more.

    2003                  

The Birth Of @delights Lamps And Oils:

A Cape Town based company started in January 2003 selling lamps and lamp oils. Two ladies had a vision and a dream of selling a new style-and-feel restaurant lamp to the hospitality industry. Their project turned into a big successful business model that provides in restaurateurs’ requirements to offer a trouble-free solution to spice up evening events, whether indoors or outside in the open air. Branded and colour coordinated, all adding value and flair to all occasions.

In September 2005 they launched their first new self-owned lamp and changed the brand name to @delights.
They launched a second design in November 2007 and since then history was made.

The company grew from strength to strength until it was sold to Caprichem in 2019. 

   2015                      

Phoenix Torch Oil: 

Caprichem launched their first indoor and outdoor lamp oils in 2015. The brand was called PHOENIX TORCH OIL and was more catered for farms, guesthouses, and camping sites. There were four variances which included a Natural, Eco Friendly, Eucalyptus, and a Citronella torch oil. It was specially formulated to withstand inclement weather, leaving you with a constant beautiful outdoor experience all year round.
PHOENIX TORCH OIL was the new great idea for lighting up patios, landscaped areas, camp sites and just about anywhere, where the outdoors took you. It was also great as a natural deterrent against pesky nuisances for people that loved the outdoors.
PHOENIX TORCH OIL was designed for use in torches, lamps, and lanterns. 

  2019  

The Start Of The @delights Brand:

Since we are a very dominant company and strive for committed to service it is important to be a one stop shop. You must have and be an everything to the customers. Hospitality being one of our strong divisions it made sense to either make our own lamps or to buy a lamp business which was already established. Caprichem approached a business called @delights lamps which was already a 15 year established business and made them an offer. The transaction went through on the 1st of November 2019. 

2020

Branding: 

In February 2020 Caprichem gave the complete range a face lift. New packaging, new labels, and brochures. At the same time employed a dedicated sales representative to continue with the servicing of the lamps.

2022

Proud Moment:

Caprichem is proud to say it was a very successful journey since the company increased the lamp turnover three-fold.

Marketing:

A new branded website was built for the @delights brand solely. The brand also links directly to Caprichem’ s website which carries all the companies’ brands. The new website is also linked to an online buying store for easy accessibility.

What's Still To Come:

We are all about being innovative and bringing you more! We will soon be developing and launching @delights star light lamps. This is small glass lamps ranging from 50ml, 100ml, 200ml and 500ml to the upmarket homeowner and restauranteur.
There will also be new lamp lenses for 750ml wine bottles as well as various other glass bottles.

@delights Pure Citronella Oil is an ultra-pure, all-natural and highly versatile oil with a variety of purposes.
It has been steam distilled from fresh and dried citronella grass.
